BIO
Get to know me - Phil Hamblin
Originally from Independence, MO currently resides in Lee's Summit. Had an interest with art at an early age. My elementary art teacher Mrs. House took interest in my creative abilities and gave me support to strengthen my skills.
I took an interest in Marvel and DC comics that allowed me to focus on attention to detail. I continued with art through high school up until my junior year and took a break around 1996. I t was around 2002 that I revisited my skills while attending The University of Missouri Columbia. where I took fundamentals of art and some advanced business classes focusing on Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark Design.
After graduating in 2003 I took a position with a local Kansas City Advertising Agency as a production artist / graphic designer. I really enjoyed helping companies with their marketing . It was around this time that I started working more with oils and creating modern abstract art. along with photography.
Showings consist of Kansas City First Fridays, Unplaza Art Fair, Lee's Summit Art Fair.
